  1. I don’t suppose you can tell me where I’d get pantan leafs, preferably mail order? I’m living in France, returning to England in a couple of weeks for 10 days, and need these to make gula malacca. I assume I’ll be able to get sago pears and palm syrup in England?

    Kind Regards.

    • Hi Sherrie,

I’m afraid I don’t know of any mail order suppliers of pandan leaves. South East Asian or Chinese food shops sell them. If you visit London, you could buy a packet and take them back and freeze them. They loose some fragrance after being frozen but are still useful.

Yes, you can buy sago and palm sugar (from which to make the syrup) in Britain. The Chinese food shops on Gerrard Street stock them.

      All the best

  2. Hi,
I am searching fuitlessly for Laksa leaves, dried or fresh. Do you know of a mail order place in the UK or Europe?

    Many thanks,
    Gareth
